Red, White, & Blue "Celebrate America" Dessert!

Becca here with a great way to have a fun celebration of America's red, white, & blue, without using artificial colors & lots of sweets.  I used jelly size canning jars, so they'd be perfect for a party too, using the canning jar lids to keep them sealed until ready to use.  My kids thought they were a great tasty treat, and a fun way to kick off our homeschool study of American History, and celebrate Memorial Day.  They'd be perfect for the 4th of July too!  Some fancy parfait or drinking glasses would be cute too!  Lots of possibilities for fun here!

Red, White, & Blue "Celebrate America" Dessert

Blueberries
Strawberries
Yogurt (I used Stoneyfield organic french vanilla from a large tub)

Wash blueberries & strawberries, and let dry before using.  Quarter strawberries, and place them in the bottom of your glass.  Add a spoonful of yogurt, making sure that it goes straight to the bottom & doesn't run along the sides on the way down.  Wiggle jar from side to side to let yogurt even out.  Add a layer of blueberries.  Continue repeating layers until you reach the top.  Add a few pieces of fruit on top for decoration, and serve.  Enjoy!

  1. Perfect for Flag Day too! Love how you used the jars. We use a sundae cup and call them yogurt parfaits. Very good with fresh or frozen fruit, honey, and granola.
