Baked Beans - Spruced Up!

Jana here with a really easy way to take an inexpensive can of pork and beans, and turn it into a very delicious side dish!  Once you make this recipe, you will never want to open a can of plain beans again without seasoning them.  These take as good as (or better!) baked beans that you get at a BBQ restaurant...you must try this!  It's very quick, and worth the few extra minutes of prep time!

Baked Beans - Spruced Up!

1 can pork and beans (15 ounce)
3 tablespoons BBQ sauce
2 1/2 tablespoons molasses
1 teaspoon mustard
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt

1. Put all ingredients in a small saucepan, and stir to mix ingredients.

2. Let simmer for 5 or more minutes, until heated through.

*Another variation would be to season as described above, but also add 1/2 pound ground sausage, and 1/2 cooked chopped onion.

Enjoy!
