Mini Pizza Bites

Jana here with a recipe that we had for dinner, but would also be great for snacks or a party!  These pizza bites are also very versatile. You can easily change the meat for different varieties, change the type of cheese, or dipping sauce!  My inspiration was from a blog who said they were inspired by a Rachael Ray recipe.

Mini Pizza Bites

3/4 cup flour (I used 1/4 cup whole wheat & 1/2 cup all purpose)
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
3/4 cup milk
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 cup shredded cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup meat (I used Italian sausage....pepperoni cubes or canadian bacon would also be good!)
1/2 cup pizza sauce (for dipping)

1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Grease a 24 cup mini muffin tin.

2. In a large bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder, and Italian seasoning.  Add in the milk and egg until combined.  Stir in the cheeses, and meat.

3. Put batter in muffin tins, and bake for 20-25 minutes. (until golden)

4. Serve with warm pizza sauce for dipping.

Enjoy!

  1. How much cooking did you do when using sausage as the meat, before adding the sausage to the mixture when making the Mini pizza bites. I am assuming that some cooking was done to be able to drain the fat.

    1. This time, I used a new product...Hormel sausage bites that were located next to the pepperoni in the deli meat area of my Walmart. They were precooked, so I just added them to the muffin mix. I was very pleased with this product!
