When I saw this recipe for Ham and Cheese Quiche on a blog I like, Women Living Well , I knew it was something I definitely wanted to make! I made it for dinner, but it would also be wonderful for breakfast, especially for a special occasion such as Christmas morning! It is very easy to prepare, and it tastes delicious!
Ham and Cheese Quiche
1 pie crust (I used one from the refrigerated section....you could make your own also!)
6 eggs
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
1 cup diced ham
1/4 cup onion, diced (optional)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
salt/pepper
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2. Saute onion and ham in a small pan, using a tablespoon or two of olive oil in the bottom. (for approximately 5 minutes)
3. Put pie crust in pie pan, then add shredded cheese to bottom. Put ham/onion mixture on top of that.
4. Beat eggs with heavy cream until well blended. Add salt and pepper to taste.
5. Pour the egg/cream mixture on top of the ham and cheese.
6. Bake for 35-45 minutes. Top should be browning, and the middle of the quiche shouldn't jiggle much. You can use the toothpick test to make sure it is done!
Enjoy!
